At Taplin-Weir we build a variety of clarinet barrels to suit Buffet, Selmer, Leblanc and Yamaha clarinets in a variety of lengths, internal tapers and outer profiles. Our selection of internal barrel tapers includes our own researched and tested designs as well as dimensions associated with Moennig, Chadash, and individual Buffet clarinet models. Traditional Grenadilla wood is used as standard but we also stock exotic wood barrels in Maccasar Ebony, Cocobolo and Mopani. Barrels made from Hard Rubber and Grenadilla barrels with hard rubber liners are also available. We offer custom designs if you require something specific.

Taplin-Weir Bore Gauge
The new Taplin-Weir Bore Gauge allows easy and accurate bore measurement of clarinet mouthpiece, barrel, and body dimensions. Made in Toronto Canada, this gauge gives players and teachers access to knowledge they can rely on throughout their careers. The set includes an additional caliper to check barrel lengths and tenon diameters.

Bonade ligatures
Bonade clarinet ligatures are in stock in both the traditional and inverted styles. We offer these ligatures silver plated and are one of the few sources to stock Gold Plated Bonades. We hand shape these ligatures to fit the reed/mouthpiece so that the ligature does not touch and dampen the sides of the reed. This also keeps the ligature from sliding up...a common problem when they are not shaped properly. Available to Canada and USA. Sorry no trials.
